Windshield anatomy question. So there's a skinny rubber thing peeling away from the notch between my windshield and the car frame. It looks kinda like a wiper blade replacement. Will the windshield rescue replacement guys fix that or do I have to get a whole new windshield?
IIRC that stuff used to come on a roll, but if it's the kind of gasket I think it is, they make those for specific models. Call the $GARAGE first, then the dealership.

It's the windshield gasket. You can replace just that.

I had Kea attack and rip out a size-able chunk of what you are talking about. The rental company was blase about it, so I'm guessing they didn't have to replace the whole thing.

What's a "Kea", edgeways?

Yeah, what *is* a Kea?! I shall investigate procurement of gasket and provide pictures at 11. Thanks kids!

Go to hardware store automotive section. You'll find "automotive silicone sealant" in a tube. Slather it on the gasket, press into place.

Smart and strong birds! Thanks, edgeways!

[I did a Google search and nothing in the few first hits seemed likely. Didn't think to check Wikipedia.]
