Last nights 30 Rock... Was that product placement for Cleveland?→[More:]or am I just over-thinking The Jake?
Have you ever been to Cleveland, or talked to anyone from there? My last job took me there often, and there was much talk about getting me to move there. The 30 Rock episode was a perfect, spot-on parody of how nearly everyone talks about the place. It has great suburbs! You can go The Flats! Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! You'll be the most attractive person there! Not nearly as bad as you've heard!
Yeah, I'm emphatically pro-Cleveland (except for the Indians and Browns--fuck those guys). Then again, I think that Rust Belt big cities, in general, have a lot of charm. Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, I like 'em all.
I've never been to Cleveland, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I thought last night's episode was great and that 30 Rock is the best comedy on network TV. That is all.
As a former Cleveburger, I loved the episode. My ex-boyfriend, who works in film/television in Cleveland (usually as an assistant director), and adores Tina Fey, was disappointed that they used stock footage and didn't actually film her scenes there.
