I'm not totally sure- The red sores sort of blended in with her skin, and if they were on her back, I didn't see them until now (that they're black). It seems as though there are more black spots than there were scabs, which makes me think they're appearing independently.
Not that I'm a vet or anything, but if they're only showing up where the sores were, they might just be scars. Either way, it's good that you're heading to the pros.
Yea, I hope you're right. The doc who treated her for the last thing said that some dogs are just more susceptible to stuff like this then others, and seeing as how bad the last thing got (the first doc told me it was just heat rash and sent us on our way, and it got so bad that she lost all her hair), I will never risk it again.
My mantra: It's only money, it's only money, it's only money... and she's my best friend.
I'm so overconcerned puppy mommy- once, she got a shot and a few days later she had a big black mark on her chest and I called the vet emergency number OMG OMG OMG and they're like, umm, it's a bruise? Yea, that's what it was.
Dogs definitely do get acne; our English mastiff had it when I was growing up. Red spots that faded into black spots, if I'm remembering correctly.
He just had it on his chin (and I think it was actually a reaction to the medicine he was on). It would seem weird to get acne on the back, but an entire chihuahua is probably about the size of a mastiff's chin, so maybe that explains it. :-)
The Twink! Hope she's okay. Sounds like a skin/scab/scar thing, which we can all hope won't threaten her. Sounds irritating, though. I'm sure the doc will be able to treat the sores and give you some perspective on the coloration of the scarring.
