Good thoughts for a fuzzy girl, please. →[More:]
This morning Zippy, my boyfriend's fox terrier, had significant amounts of blood in her stool, and she's gone from being her usual perky self to very listless. She's had gastro problems before, but nothing this serious (the vet hasn't seemed to take my boyfriend's concerns too seriously in the past, but when he called today they told him to bring her in right away.) Think good thoughts, please!

thanks, everyone. She is a super cutie...when the boyfriend and I were first exchanging emails before meeting in person, he sent a couple of pics of Zippy -- which, of course, made me want to meet him all the more! (And which he was betting on when he sent them. So she helped play matchmaker a bit.)

update: the news seems pretty good; the vet is thinking (at this point) a parasite or infection, or possibly a bad flare-up of IBS, and prescribed meds to see how she responds in the next few days/week. Boyfriend reports that her appetite and mood have perked up a little bit in the meantime. Thanks for the good wishes, everyone -- I will let Zippy know when I see her!
