I hate parking. Especially in SF. Unfortunately, the most vivid memories of my time spent in the Bay Area consist mostly of cursing-filled attempts to find parking in the Marina or North Beach on a weekend evening.
I'd drive myself crazy if I had to live in the city and park on the street. Looks like this guy just said 'fuck it'. I sympathize.
Yeah I lived near the Haight for a while and finding parking was a 1-hour experience at times. And we're talking dead-of-night with a 20-block radius. It was crazy. I don't really endorse this guy's solution, though!
Some folks take the "cheapest ticket" approach. Like, if you're faced with an impossible situation, park on the sidewalk instead of a bus stop. The ticket it cheaper. This "sticking out from the corner" violation is probably even lighter, on the order of "too far from curb." Who knows how rich this fuck is? Maybe it's a diplomat or someone in a City office who knows how to get his tickets taken care of...
There's a giant pay parking lot that I use to work. When I first started going there, there was an Xtera driver who would double park. It pissed me off every time I saw it, to the point that I've been tempted to park as close as possible to them. They've been gone for a few months, but they came back today.
