I think it's pretty clear who wears the pants camo dungarees in that relationship.
Or perhaps the lucky fella just managed to find himself a girl who shares his tastes. "A top hat and suit, MaryLou? Why ever would you want to marry a beau who wears such fancy clothes? When I grow up I'm going to marry a man in camo overalls and a John Deer trucker cap. Then we're going to the biggest, fanciest Bass Pro Shop we can find for the honeymoon".
Actually I bet these two had a more enjoyable wedding than folks who spend $30K. My experience has always been that joy at a wedding has always been inversely proportional to the money spent.
I'm with arsey on this one. They obviously had a sense of humor about it (and so did the paper). Good for them.
I'm all for making fun of stupid people on the internet, but I think it's kind of unfair to make fun of them when they're already making fun of themselves.
I think I must be a redneck, because I flipped back and forth between this thread and the linked article three or four times, trying to figure out what was so laughable about it.
They have a new Bass Pro Shops store in Branson, MO. Along with a big modern shopping mall, which just seems really out of place to me considering what Branson was like when I was growing up. Lots of country music shows, little bitty tourist-trap stores, a pretty decent selection of interesting local stores (a lot of which are now gone to make way for chain restaurants and that type of thing.) It is interesting to watch the growth but I do not like it nearly as well as a "getaway" as I did ten-fifteen years ago. But I do want to visit the Bass Pro Shops. I've only been to the one in Springfield a couple of times, it is a neat place. I bet Springfield has changed a helluva lot since the last time I visited it as well.
