A Very Happy Easter To All My Mecha Friends!! [More:]And a very happy Sunday to those who don't celebrate Easter. And a happy Passover for those still celebrating that.

We had an Easter Egg hunt here. Twenty four eggs hidden inside/twenty four eggs hidden outside. This year I think they found all of them. Last year we found a forgotten one in late May! Later, we go to my brother-in-law's for another egg hunt and food. I hope all of you have a great day!
Happy Easter Everyone!
Glad you enjoyed yours so much redvixen!!

Happy Easter to everyone from me too. This year Orthodox Easter coincides with Catholic that makes it all more worthwhile, less confusing, more celebratory.
Lunch today includes red eggs, sweet Easter bread called tsoureki, and roast lamb with potatoes.

Happy Easter redvixen!

The kids opened their baskets and then we went to K-mart with my mother and sister. It's the only store open and we felt like shopping. I got the cutest little ducky egg cups on sale. Then we went back to my mom's and had tunafish sandwiches. Hubby is working, but he works every Easter. We're a bunch of heathens. ; )

Happy Easter.
I'm watching crap TV and drinking a bottle of champagne I've had in the house since Xmas. Later, I'll be eating pies and chips. Life is good.

Happy Easter!

When my parents finally moved from the house we grew up in, we found an Easter egg of indeterminate age buried in a pretend potted plant. It had pretty much fossilized; any albumen was long since gone, and the yolk had turned into a hard little ball rattling around inside a burgundy-dyed hardened shell.

I had a great Easter -- went for brunch to a friend's house at 10:30. Frittata with soppresata, peppers and mushrooms, and Italian easter bread. Sat talking over the crumbs for a few hours, a bottle of wine was opened, another couple hours went by, we went for a short walk and came back and started dinner: ham, broccoli, mashed potatoes, and baked beans. Followed by cheeses and more sopressata. All in all, we spent no fewer 12 hours around the table, aside from the 15-minute walk, solving the problems of the day, with plenty of good food, good wine, and good conversation. A very, very pleasant Easter.

Happy Easter, and speaking of rising from the dead, how ‘bout them Atlanta Braves?

Easter sunrise service (Central College Presbyterian Church) on the dam at Hoover Reservoir, it was snowing sideways w/ wind chills in low teens. My friend and I were prepared, but some parents of small children weren’t thinking about the fact that those little kids would be standing still out there vice running around playing. Hilarity did *not* ensue. Also, I was reminded of why I did not choose to join L.’s flavor when we were figuring out what church we’d go to. My friend didn’t much care for it either.

To deal with conditions, I’d dressed as if I were going dog-marching in the cold, and I didn’t bother running home to change before going to my own church (Grace Lutheran) for 8:15 Communion and Easter breakfast afterward. But then, I think they’re getting used to me there, so it’s all good.

Oh, and 0430 Sat AM, somebody beats on my apartment door. Through the peephole, I saw a well-dressed white college-age couple. I heard the girl tell the guy something about “Wes *used* to live here, anyway.” They beat on the door some more, so I put on the safety latch, cracked the door and said very loudly, “I’m not Wes. Go buy your drugs somewhere else.” They left fast without so much as an “Oh, I’m sorry.”

I thought about it and made a sign that I’ve taped to my door:

NOTICE: Anyone found here at night will be found here in the morning.
AVISO: Cualquier persona encontrada aquí en la noche será encontrada aquí por la mañana.
