He is a pug/chihuahua mix which is what my other dog is as well.

They are calling him Hoover at the shelter but I may very well end up calling him "Pork Chop" - also up for consideration are the names Lenny, Pirate, Butterball, and Piggy. (It could be that I name him Pork Chop and just call him Piggy for a nickname.) It will depend on how he strikes me when I meet him on Monday!

I like folks who give diminutive dogs, especially dogs who don't seem to understand they're little dogs, big names. Like 'Duke (after Marmaduke), or Buster, or Spike.

Personally, your guy looks like a "Spike" to me...

I like the name Pork Chop, with the really minty green eyes.

Pirate butterball is good too./ Sir Pirate butterball though.

I know you do, mup. And I love you for that just a tiny bit because it cracks me up.

I'm toying with naming him Pork Chop and using the nickname "Piggy" - it all depends on what his actual personality is like. It may be a thing where I turn to IRC and ask for suggestions again. (via named my other dog when I couldn't come up with just the thing. Lulu was/is just the perfect name for her!)
