Neighbour update [More:]After all this kicked off yesterday, he has apparently been able to 'move on' from his tragic break-up with Nicole because I've just seen him leave with a new hooker who he brought home last night.
I need to get a "new hooker" air freshener for the bathroom. And there's something very Rear Window about all this.

But seriously, he sounds like a total douche.

Is there some way you could distribute his photo to the prostitutes in the neighborhood, with some sort of general "This guy is bad news" warning?

That may be way above and beyond where you're comfortable going in this situation, but... I don't know. It sucks that he keeps dragging new people into all this.

They're not from the neighbourhood, occhiblu. This is a very upscale neighbourhood and the girl I helped the other week was from Kilburn, which is in north London, about 15 or so miles from here.

The pattern is, he brings them home very late at night, then he leaves with them late morning or, as today, late afternoon the following day. Where we live is isolated, there are no buses round here, so he has to drive them, or occasionally a taxi arrives to take them away.

But I guess that's what I mean -- if all the women are hanging out in the same place, trying to start a word-of-mouth network for them?

If he's grabbing them from random places, though, I guess that wouldn't work.

This totally sucks, for you and everyone involved. I'm so sorry you're in the middle of it.

Occhiblu, I have no idea where he's picking them up. London is vast and I suspect he picks them up randomly - his car has a distinctive number plate so he'd be remembered I think if he was going to the same place over and over.

Whatever his character faults, his libido seems in fine fettle, and he appears to have the jack to pay the girls. And frankly, if he's not any longer mistreating them, or causing loud disruptions, there isn't much to be done. The concerns were that he was hurting (or cheating) women, and disrupting the quiet enjoyment of property by neighbors, not that he was paying for sex, which, as I understand it, is not illegal in Britian, behind closed doors.

I'll be surprised, however, if further public drama does not ensue. It's not called 'risky business' for nothing. But until/unless there is more public drama, all you can/should do is count your blessings, as you count his assignations.

Yes, paulsc, it's not illegal to pay for sex in the UK, nor do I have a problem with that. But this guy has some kind of kink that he likes to drug/tie up women and hurt them, and he's choosing women who are vulnerable and unlikely to report it.

Also, this behaviour appears to be escalating, both in terms of frequency and ensuing disruption. And whilst I'm pissed off at the noise, I'm worried about these women and what could happen to them. I think it's well documented that thrill-seekers have to up the ante again and again to get the thrill back.

Well, essexjan, you've already personally aided one his liason partners, and you may have information from her to which I'm not privy, that leads you now to say, specifically, "he likes to drug/tie up women and hurt them" which is another kettle of fish, altogether, than what I've gleaned from your prior posts. I'm sorry if you have specific information which is driving your fears.

But what can you do, if the drama stays behind closed doors? Prostitution is a risky business, in both directions. He may well get his comeuppance yet, from someone he brings home, who he's misjudged in the poor light of streetlamps...

I wonder what he'd say if he saw all these threads about him? This is all getting a bit disturbing and I'm worried about EJ's point about people having to up the ante to get the same thrill.

Should any of them not leave or reappear-- what a horrible thing to be looking out for.
i say we make flyers that can be distributed or posted in the usual haunts of the working girls.
In the US, we would have a channel or telly program ready to monitor the person.
It all very much sucks.
i'd say you should record what you can but i don't want you to be unduly obsessed with him and hate think what would make the info useful.
