800+ Songs You've Never Heard Before RPM Challenge jukebox Beta is up, with one track from each participating artist available. Some picks inside.
You can't direct link, so here is just a list of tracks I so far like. I've been listening all day and only up to the end of the As, though...this is just a smattering of things that have popped out here and there. Plenty of good listening.
Anya Rose: At the Dump
Andrew Francis: Post Nasal Drip Blues (early Dylan/Guthrie thing)
Audrey Ryan: Drone
Bryan Litchfield: Living Life Low (kinda reminds me of 70s Dave Mason)
Dave Ciciotte: Delta Elevator. (Out there).
Jon Nolan: 238
Josh Millard: At the Open Mic
My Imaginary Life: Insomnia
Muusic.net: Chaotic World
Samm Bennett: Just Blew Into Town
Stagecoach Dick: Alls (This song is a treasure)
The Black Cats: Come Clean
...and the unofficial heroes of RPM '07, the Poo Poo Platters (8 and 10 year old kids) and their undeniable fierce power on "Rocket Man"
Hope you'll enjoy all this stuff--- all written and recorded by independent artists in the month of February 2007.

thanks miko! it's good to have something going in the background as I try to do something productive with my good friday off...I am trying to resist the urge to nap the afternoon away...
It's kind of an adventure trying to determine identity. I am also wary that I am somehow breaking the confidentiality of some identities. Hopefully it's allright if they're 'out' on either RPM or MeFi and there's a connection between their postings in both places.
Soooo...other MePeople, near as I know:
Jonathan Harnlow: Only Civilization (nanojath)
BGM: Jesus at a Table for Two (chococat, I think)
Hiram Loucke: i am a bear and i am asleep (sleepy pete of The Harvey Girls)
Vampire Deer: Groundhog Day --(pyramid termite)
DJ Dialtone: Howard Beale Died for Your Sins (drezdn)
Alchemist Corpse Rite: V is for Vicodin (malocchio, I think)
The Secret People is 1/2 MeFite (john c herman)
Ira: With All My Heart (ira.metafilter).
Hiram's album is awesome. I'm ashamed to say I haven't carved out time to listen to many other submissions so far—I hate to nickle-and-dime a new album with stolen minutes here and there, and I haven't set up solid uninterruptable hour-long blocks lately for good listening.
Apologies for mispelling the names of the good people. Originally I was trying to link to MeFi profiles, too, and gave up due to too much window juggling. I plead inattention.
Today's the first day I've had a listen - I just decided to start it up at work since I had a lot of desk work today.
I must say: it's a whole lot of music, and it's just one track per person. At the listening party, Dave said the whole submission pool added up to several months' worth of listening. So I am actually appreciating the chance to get a tiny taste of each act, so I'll know what to listen to in full and what to let slide. Quite a bit of the experimental stuff has not caught my ear much, and that eliminates a ton right off the bat.
