Six Depeche Mode covers. From the surprisingly good For The Masses tribute album, [More:]which came out in the late 90s, and which I found in the used rack yesterday.

Smashing Pumpkins "Never Let Me Down Again"

The Cure "World In My Eyes"

Veruca Salt "Somebody"

Monster Magnet "Black Celebration"

Meat Beat Manifesto "Everything Counts"

Failure "Enjoy the Silence"

I'm stuck at work at the moment, but that list of artists looks very good - I'm definitely going to grab those in a few hours. Thanks!

I bought that album when it came out and was pretty impressed by the quality of the covers. It then inspired me to make my own Depeche Mode cover album, which I had a great deal of fun doing but then a hard drive died and all those songs went with it :-(

if you like the cover of "enjoy the silence", the three albums that failure made during their regrettably short existence - comfort (my personal favorite), magnified and fantastic planet - are all very good and worth seeking out.

I LOVE Fantastic Planet, but I wasn't even sure they had other ones out there... thanks for the tip, syntax.

May I just point out that only one of those songs actually appears on Music for the Masses?
