Yikes. A man just shot a woman down in the atrium of CNN Center, about half an hour ago. The police nabbed him, and I'm very glad I work in the other end of the building.
It sounds like the guy knew the woman, it wasn't just a random shooting? Not that it makes the shooting any better, but it probably helps the other people in the building feel a bit less out of control.
Yeah, it was very much an argument between two people, not one of those random shooting things. I'm just glad they nabbed the guy right away (and it was our security guards, not the cops who got him) and we didn't have him running around loose.
This happened yesterday at the University of Washington, just a couple buildings over from where I used to work 10 years ago. The woman had done everything she could to get away from her stalker, including moving at least once, alerting all her co-workers, and getting a restraining order - but he still shot her.
