Tunes for ethylene! And you, if you want 'em! Here are a couple of songs I promised eth BEFORE her hard drive disaster, plus several more.→[More:]

Mareva "Pourquoi pas moi?" Retrolicious French "ye-ye" from last year- props to me3dia for posting the video for this song and making me a fan. Also, Mareva's cover of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)."

No probs - the KOL track is from their new album out this week. The Fields track is from their debut album, also out this week - they're a new, promising UK group.

Malcolm Middleton is a dour Scotsman who used to be in a group called Arab Strap. Before they split he had a couple of solo albums out that were critically well received in the UK. That track is off his latest album, A Brighter Beat, which is only marginally less misrerable.

Ah, i'd only just gotten some Arab Strap before the crash.
This has been a really nice little collection to listen to.
i'd never really given the Cardigans a chance but i've heard a few decent songs by them now so i'm not so prejudiced, and i love the new arcade fire.

That Cardigans track is from Long Gone Before Daylight, a fantastic album that somewhat killed their career; people were expecting more Erase/Rewind stuff, but instead the band brought out a collection of slower elegiac tunes.

Overall, the KOL is rather fine indedd. That track is the opener. You can tell that they've been playing with larger, stadium bands because the whole sound of the album is larger and slightly more polished.
