30 March 2007

It's Friday Arvo Here , so here's my tree. [More:]
I know it was widened to cover more than just trees, but I like this tree a lot.

If only I could get the image tag to work.

It's a Moreton Bay Fig with a Strangler Fig growing around it.

The yellow stuff is some sort of fungus.

I didn't like this shot so much, but you can see the whole tree.

I took this a couple years ago. I always liked it because it seems like a portrait. Tree portrait!

Some bark from the trees in the park where I walk our dog every day.

That's a very cool tree GeckoDundee.

Here's my tree, a big old tree that grows by the pond across from the parish church.

The tree that tried to kill me, and what it looked like last summer.

That shit still gives me the willies.

Our front yard oak tree, which is like a member of the family:

A maple in our neighborhood that we make a point of visiting every fall, because it turns the most gorgeous yellow:

I love all of these. Is that an oak, Jan?

Lucky escape, bmarkey, but tell us you didn't have a tap in that.

Some of these shots are just gorgeous. Trees have such character and beauty. Very good idea, agropyron.

This is a tree I shot especially for BP, using a Holga and "soft" film:

My by far most popular shot on flickr, a happy accident double exposure taken the day I took my Holga out of the box:

These are lovely. Mudpuppie, your tree looks... stately, for want of a better word. I love misteraitch's bark shots.

This tree is on the campus of SUNY Geneseo. It's known as the Seuss Spruce, for obvious reasons.

OMG, do I love the Seuss Spruce. HEH HEH!!

All of these pics are wonderful.

This is the spindly redbud tree in my backyard, which has a nest in it right now.

oh another one - I took this at sunrise a couple mornings ago. I'm always fascinated by branches and sky.

mgl, that "last summer" pic is kinda Seuss-like, too.

Sorry, I didn't shoot any new pics for this assignment. But here's an old one, taken on Galiano Island, BC.

GeckoDundee, when you post from Flickr in the future, can you include the link back to Flickr on your photo? The easiest way to do this is to go to the "view all sizes" page, select "medium", and then copy the tags from the box. For metachat you'll have to delete the "title" attribute and its value on the <a> tag, and delete the width, height, and alt attributes and their values from the <img> tag. It's part of Flickr's terms of service that you should link back, and also it's good for those of us who want to add your photos to our favorites!

I guess I'm more of a leaf/branch guy, myself. Never been one to take a photo of the whole tree.

From last year, I didn't get a chance to get the tree I'd like to put here. Maybe tomorrow. These are great pictures. I love trees, and like mygothlaundry, I love trees and sky together. This was a great idea!
