SwapTree invite? Anyone have any idea how I can get an invite to SwapTree? I signed up for one, but I want it NOW!
So let's say that I used some kind of Web 2.0 pitch to collect a bunch of email addresses. How would I go about selling said addresses, and how much money could I expect to receive? I mean, that's a valuable list, as these kinds of lists go, right? (I don't mean to imply that that's what these folks are doing--I'm just curious.)
(Just so it's perfectly clear--I feel confident that Swaptree is a real site, and I've seen nitsuj and bjork24's names around Mefi for quite a while, and think well of both of 'em.)
In fact, I think that Swaptree is the greatest site with -tree at the end of its name since since that one with the jam-band torrents. (Maybe public praise will speed that invite on its way.)
Just to see who is still paying attention... we will send Swaptree beta invitations to the first four MetaChat users who send an email to: MetaChat (at) swaptree (dot) com.
We're still tweaking a bunch of stuff on the site so we're keeping a tight reign on the number of users in our private beta, but we can always use a few more people with lots of books, CDs, DVDs and video games...
I'd just like to plug lala for the cd swapping thing. You pay $1.75 for every cd you receive (postage and handling) and you earn the right to receive cds by shipping cds. I have had nothing but good experiences with it. Managed to finally hear a lot of cds I thought I was interested in. Managed to unload some stuff I'll never listen to again. Managed to get a couple things (Congo Norvell, I'm looking at you!) I have never been able to find for sale.
(Not that I'm not sure swaptree will be awesome, just offering alternatives is all)
