29 March 2007

The 2007 Hugo Nominations are up. As is often the case I haven't read any of the nominated novels, though at least I've got a copy of Rainbows End in front of me on my desk. [More:]I've also read the Gaiman story and seen a lot of the nominated movies and TV episodes. You? Any recommendations?
I haven't read the Charlie Stross novel, but I've really liked two of his others, and you can download one of his that I haven't read: Accelerando, for free.

My friend and I read Michael Swanwick's "Vacuum Flowers" in seventh grade because it was supposed to be Cyberpunk (and there was a sex scene or two).

Blindsight was good, and it's under a Creative Commons license so you can download it for free.

3 Dr. Who episodes? Really?

The had to fill it up with something, and there's no way an episode of Torchwood would make the cut...

Acclerando was pretty good, Glass House not so much. I put Blindsight down after about 70 pages, it just wasn't grabbing me.
