Make up a new word. Mine's demigrate: to reduce one's cheese intake by half. →[More:]
The linked WashPo contest seems to be a hoax, but the words are pretty good — I particularly like beelzebug and ignoranus.
Something that is half deflated, or generally tilts to one side, or just doesn't fit right.
"See that flongy car rolling along with that flongy tire on it?"
" I can't get the new printer ink cartridge to fit cause it's all flongy."
Usually once something is flongy, it's usually "all flongy".
Nah, not a hoax, but not an annual contest either. It's just an occasional feature, not a real "contest". E-mail forwards of one particular week -- over 400 weeks ago -- keep it alive.
The rules are changing one letter of a dictionary word, so some of the above don't actually fit.
I'm sitting here trying to think of something computer-related as an entry, and all I come up with is Web 2.0 company names ...
OK, here's one: impoachment, n. A legal process of removing a country's leader, thus devolving the powers of the said office to a lousy hunter.
Here's another political one (you can tell where my mind is, I guess): lierarchy, n. A system of government where more powerful persons order less powerful persons to speak untruthfully, and in some cases suffer the consequences.
