Delay's divorce from reality. [More:] Even after everything, I'm still a bit flabergasted this man was so powerful for so long. Why do the fantasycons have to deny even trivial stuff?
Wow, I can't play the video, but just the transcript was enough. What a tool!

He was interviewed on NPR's Morning Edition yesterday, and had to ask myself the same question. It seems to me to be a failing within the Republican party that fanatically antagonistic politicians like Delay make it past House Whip.

It's amazing to me that so many politicians don't understand the concepts of recordings and transcripts. Rumsfeld repeatedly does the same thing.

On reading further: That was a line from Delay's book! He wrote it--or had it ghost-written for him--and still denied it. Amazing.

It was the "I didn't write 'drunk', that would be a cliche"-bit most most bizarred me out. Of all things, he's worried people might think he wrote a cliche!?

I bet Delay had the whole thing ghostwritten by a seventeen year-old girl in Oregon.

Delay's divorce from reality.

They divorced, and reality got to keep the House.

It's such a weird thing to lie about. Is there really that much difference between saying someone's drunk with ambition and saying they're blinded by ambition?

Just the steamy bits.

What a dick.

Probably some projecting, or anti-projecting, on his part. When he was in the Texas House, Delay had a reputation for being a really dumb party boy. He wasn't drunk with ambition back then so much as he was just drunk.

Y'all should read The Hammer. My friend wrote it!
