d00dz, we got a FLAT! Wootage. Thanks for the whuffles! It's pretty and has a huge kitchen and double-glazed windows and is the awesomeness! It's in Maryhill.
Party! Party! Party! Party!

then, when you've cleared up from the party,

Cat! Cat! Cat! Cat!

actually someone else got the magnificent gorgeous cat-worthy flat, we have a non-cat-able flat now. But it's still nice. And in a nicer area then the other flat!

sigh. want cats. ah well, yay flat anyway. it has a huge fancy kitchen and a bookshelf.

How nice to speak British English, so that when you say "I got a flat!" it's a good thing!

What do you call it when your car's tire is deflated?

Also, congratulations!

We say "I've got a puncture" or "I've got a flat tyre". We wouldn't say just "flat" on its own to mean a flat tyre.

I can't keep up. A friend of mine here in the States told me he got a flat and I said, "I didn't know you were apartment hunting." He wasn't, he was asking for help. Now you say you've got a flat and I think, "Always carry a jack and a spare tire." Or should I say "tyre"?

What Miko said.

Funny, Americans never talk about renting "a" flat, but we do talk about "two-flat" or "four-flat" buildings.
