Tesla (oh boy, I'm showing my age) used a theremin on their Psychotic Supper album. I saw them live in Manchester and they used it then and it sounded amazing.
Neat!
This also opened a can of worms (not quite the right expression... meh) as far as theremin-related youtube videos goes. I spent at least a half hour browsing through them.
