I can't believe I'm so excited that I'm getting a new phone. A pink phone! OMG!

I can't believe I'm so excited that I'm getting two new windows fitted on 30 March, in the bathroom and in my bedroom. I am not so excited about the expense, but then again I am a cheapskate when it comes to spending money on my home.

WolfDaddy, I am also excited about your streetlight. It's weirdly thrilling when one can call a large bureaucracy and they do something! For you! (The editorial "you," that is. But it's probably doubly thrilling when they're doing it for "you" and you are you, you know?)

My house abuts conservation land and there was a huge dead tree straddling the property line, at the top of a set of stairs but close to the street. We worried that it would someday crash down on the sidewalk, so in 1994, we asked the town to remove it and the Tree Warden agreed and added it to the removal list.

Flash forward to a fine spring evening in 2003, when we returned home from work to find that the town had finally kept its promise.

Hot diggity! Today I'm just happy my deodorant works.
