A Dozen Undervalued Movie Satires by Jonathan Rosenbaum.
Fans of Sandra Bernhard should check out "The King of Comedy". Her improv skills steal this movie.

Well, I'll have to add some of these to my "see it someday" list. Very neat post.

How cool... I love movies like this, but I've only seen two on the list. Thanks, matteo.

Thanks for posting this, Matteo. I'm a big fan of Rosenbaum's writing.

A third of these are among my favorite movies. Lord Love a Duck, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, The Long Goodbye, The King of Comedy (Sandra Bernhard and Jerry Lewis are great).

This is a good list. I'm really happy to read that he gets my favorite Altman movie, which is not quite his funniest (MASH is much more funny), but is a great satire.

Lord Love a Duck is crazy good, and he's right about the shopping scene with Tuesday Weld's character and her father -- it's quite bizarre.
