The Hungry Cabbie has probably already shown up here at some time or other; here's a good interview with him and a link to his five-borough tour trailer [YouTube].
Yep it has.

I would LOVE to go on one of his eating tours.

I guess the mecha search engine doesn't work on exact matches. Ah, well.

I was reading this today at lunch, thinking about his eating tours. They do look cool. The video's alright, too.

I can eat dairy products again, so I'm planning a personal eating tour of my own. Pizza and reuben sandwiches.

One of these days I'm gonna take a long lunch and go to Pastrami Queen on Lex between 78 and 79 Sts.

Sorry about the double.

Never apologise for a double.

You know, I have never had a reuben sandwich.

*cries* I haven't had a reuben in years. One of the first things I'm going to hunt down and devour when I visit the U.S.

You gotta try one, gaspode. Jonmc's gonna be here in a minute to tell us we must have one at Katz's, and he's probably right. I had one when I was twelve at Carnegie Deli and it was huge; it's a tourist trap, though.

I can't believe you never went to Jack's of Lombard St. or Atmann's for reubens when you were in Baltimore? They're great. Jack's is a childhood delight for me.

yeah, I don't know how I've gone this long without having one, to be honest. And now it's all built up, so I want a fantastic one.

I guess I mainly ate seafood and cheesesteaks in Baltimore. Hrm. mr. gaspode loves Jack's.

When me3dia and I were in New York, we went to Carnegie Deli. He got the Reuben melt, I think, and it was 3 heart attacks on a plate. And everything was good, but the portions were so freakisly large that it was ridiculously wasted on tourists with no mini-fridge. Thankfully we found a homeless guy in New York (imagine that!) to give our leftovers to.

I love that y'all did that. I always give leftovers away when I'm traveling. I also always preface it with "I didn't take a bite out of it, I promise!" But that's probably just white liberal guilt.
