Household Hints with TPS I've been meaning to share this tip I read on how to wash bras[More:]I read it in Real Simple magazine, I believe. You use a one gallon jar for the washing- I bought a plastic one at the dollar store. You put the bras and the soap inside, and fill it 3/4 full. Then, shake it all around! It's like a washing machine, but gentler. It was very easy. I also did some sweaters. Overall, very helpful for me.
I can see how that would be a good tip for the folks who need the very expensive lingere for proper fit! I'll pass it on to my friend in the same situation.

I had a rare moment of domestic ah-hah this weekend. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It's - magic! Seriously, this is a fine product. Oooh, what else will it erase! Stick to white or light surfaces though, I thought I had damaged some black tile, but I was able to rub/rinse the magic off.

I should buy one of those and go to town on my shower.

That's what I did, it was pretty amazing. Old house, original bathroom (except for the sink) so even if I slave in the bathroom, it never gets sparkly clean. It still isn't, but this was the most effective product on bathroom tile I've ever used.

Hurray! ::puts Magic Eraser on shopping list::

Very cool tip TPS. I like the Magic Eraser too, but be very careful with painted surfaces, it takes the paint right off within seconds. I had a scuff mark on my baseboard, I realized too late that my Magic Eraser was covered in white paint.

I always get paranoid with handwashing (or, um, gallon jar washing) that I'm not going to get all the soap out. And then I rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse and then I've ruined the garment anyway. Sigh.

Yes, tile and appliances and stuff only. Apparently it works by fibreglass.

Word. My bathroom door is missing paint along its edge for this very reason.

I recently realized the awesome blasting power of my old Water Pik. It can blast the mildew off grout and and the scum that builds up under and between faucet handles.

ooh cool tip jrossi. I've used old battery powered toothbrushes to scrub. They work pretty well. Speaking of, I bought two singing toothbrushes today. 10 bucks each, damn kids! One sings the Rocky theme, the other, We Will Rock You, by Queen.

*wonders if she's a complete slob, as has never used a Magic Eraser or water pik*

*on preview, decides she absolutely must have a toothbrush that sings We Will Rock You*

Wow. Brushing with a toothbrush that plays Rocky would totally psych me up! It would help me go the distance!

Yeah! Where do you get those?!

nevermind- found them: Tooth Tunes

...wonders if plus-size underwire bras even fit inside a gallon jug...

small_ruminant, I found them at CVS. They are designed to help you brush for a full two minutes. The more pressure you put on the brush, the louder the music.

I've got one of these, but it just beeps every thirty seconds, then twice at the two-minute mark. I never knew what I was missing.

My three-year-old loves to sing We Will Rock You. He thinks it says, "We Will! We Will! Watch You!" Ha! I had to buy it for him.
