28 February 2007

In a few hours, I will have my *third* interview of the week. This is, of course, after having moved on Monday. I am so very, very tired. [More:]On the plus side, however, all the interviews are going very well so far, and the one this afternoon is with people who called me even after I sent them a writing sample with a typo, so that seems positive.
Go get 'em, occhi!

Good work and good luck, lady!

What's confusing is that the interviews are all for different positions that I would like to hold simultaneously -- a part-time job to pay the rent, an internship for school, and then a freelance gig on top off all of this. I'm losing track of what I'm supposed to be talking about with whom.

"I would be an excellent school psychologist because I always meet my writing deadlines and I collaborate well with the sales staff. Wait..."

But thank you for your good wishes!

oh, good luck, occhi! I am so bad at interviews- always overthink things.

maybe you can make yourself little index cards to keep your jobs straight, and then refer to them in the interview... no. probably not.

OK! The place that I interviewed with on Monday, which was the third interview I've had with those people, now wants a fourth interview! Tomorrow! Which makes four interviews this week, and four interview with this place!

FOUR INTERVIEWS! For a part-time job! Who needs to interview someone four times!?!? Also, this interview is to fill out the "official employment application"! Apparently that is the LAST step! WHY is the application the LAST step? I'm so confused!!!

(Though this also sounds like an awesome awesome job, so I'm ok going in again, but seriously! Four interviews!)

after i appoint myself Supreme Overlord of the Known Universe, i will make a law that employers would be allowed to conduct, at max, one interview per potential hiree. like ask whatever stupid pointless shit you need to ask, and be done with it. and then, if they still need clarification or new information, they could send an email instead of wasting everyone's time with more stupid horseshit... with the sniffing and the gazing and body language assessment and the fake phony bullshit and the palm readings and the hoop-jumpings and the guantanamo-style interrogations and/or etc. there is a special ring in hell reserved specifically for every one of you cocksucking human resource douchebag androids.

sorry to derail. good luck, occhiblu!

Four Interviews! For a part-time job???
Are you sure they're not trying to come on to you???

best of luck with them. I laughed out loud at your school psychologist & writing deadlines quote, as I've had at least three careers at this stage although consecutively!

whoah. I hope this isn't a preview of how everything is handled there. Yikes. At any rate, it sounds to me like it's pretty much a done deal, which is great! (If it isn't, then I suspect they've been interviewing for this job for 30+ years, and are probably pretty close to wrapping it up after they've interviewed a fewwwww more people.)
