I dunno ... it felt kind of stale. The plot device with the narrator telling the story from the interrogation room, the minor special effects, the Irish/Italian clash, I just felt like I'd seen it all before. I didn't really feel one way or the other for any of the characters. I might watch next week to see if it improves.
Didn't watch it.
Saw the commercial a few times and was all confused because in Canada the story of the Black Donnellys is a rather famous one, which happened in London, Ontario (2 hours west of Toronto) 150 years or so ago and is the bloody, murdery, curse-and-hauntings stuff of legend up here.
But this one looked like American teenagers or something.
Yes, but written by Paul Haggis, Canadian. I think they transplanted the idea/stories of the Donnellys to a modern setting. (All the family loyalty/fued stuff seems intact.) But of course, I haven't seen it yet.
I avoided it purposefully. Don't need to get involved in another show this year; I figure if I hear good things I'll watch it on dvd when the season is over.
Studio 60's not officially cancelled, yet. It's "on hiatus" while The Black Donnelly's is on. I thought Studio 60 started out strong, but neither the comedy nor the drama lately has been meeting my Sorkin expectations. The show seems malaised.
Watched the first half. I'll watch the rest of it later, if I get around to it. Very technically interesting, but I'm not sure that I can get excited about it.
Also, another booh for the pulling of Studio 60. I understand that it's been a little weak, but still! The first season of the West Wing was no prize, either.
I like the acting and writing in Studio 60. If it's really gone, which is likely, I'll miss it. Aaron Sorkin is a great writer. Just found out Sports Night is available on dvd, so I'll have a Sorkin fix available, if needed.
I didn't watch it. All the promos for it during Heroes the past few weeks really annoyed the hell out of me - it also seemed like all the promos were showing me things I'd seen or heard before.
I think NBC has to run the remaining episodes of Studio 60 since they were contracted for (I believe) 22 episodes. It's too bad so much rearranging went on with Studio 60 as far as what the show was actually going to be about. There are plenty of good actors on the show but it seems like there were disagreements between Sorkin and NBC as to what needed to happen with the show and so we got that change of pace from show stuff over to love life stuff back in January.
I wish NBC would cut the budget of the show and give them a second season - West Wing got a lot better in the second season. I also wish NBC would let Sorkin find his footing as to what the show should be about.

I don't they have to run them; they have to buy them, but they don't have to run them. I dunno; they say it's coming back, but it sounds like a soft cancel to me. Remember Joey? They did the exact same thing.
I was sick, so I didn't catch it and it sounds like I didn't miss much. I'm not really sad to see Studio 60 go. I tried to like it. I really did. But they just kept saying the same thing over and over again. Especially that damn Harriet. At one point I turned to my husband and said, "Jeez Louise, these people have spent more time discussing their relationship in 13 episodes than we have in 13 years!"
I would have liked more Hughley and Corddry. I found them amusing.
