What's for dinner?→[More:]I am making Tilapia and Mizithra Pasta. Without the Mizithra. I am out of Romaine lettuce and I don't have Mizithra cheese or Ricotta. I am using a bit of Parmigiano Reggiano instead. I think it might work.
Went to my parents' place for a meal. Steak and mushroom pie, mashed potatoes, purple sprouting broccoli and carrots followed by apple strudel with far too much double cream. And lots of red wine. I am stuffed and sleepy.
Peanut noodle salad: somen noodles dressed with my newest recipe for spicy peanut sauce, and tossed with sauteed sweet potato, julienned carrot, broccoli, bok choi, and scallions. Sometimes, I top it with crispy fried marinated tofu, but today we ate all the tofu on Friday.
It's usually an easy dinner to throw together, but this week I decided to get serious about recording all my newest recipes, so instead of eyeballing everything and tweaking haphazardly as I went along, I measured and recorded every ingredient, tasted it, and adjusted to taste, writing down every additional drip and droplet of seasoning. This is not the way I've cooked for the past thirty years, and it's crampin' my style, man.
Going out for Chinese with a bunch of folks I've never met. I've just tried on and taken off everything in my closet. Now I have about ten minutes before sitting around in my undies in a pile of clean clothes becomes wildly inappropriate.
I whipped up a tasty tofu, broccoli, and sweet potato wrap thingy. The kicker was a slightly spice marinade/sauce made of an entire head of dill, a bit of sweet rice wine, some olive oil, salt, and a bit of hot sauce. Talk about yum!
We were at a bar with our MD friends watching the Terps pull out an exciting win over UNC (heart attack game, really, but it was awesome) so I had a cheeseburger.
