Sometimes you just don't know what you needed until you find it. →[More:]After my mini-bender last night, my buddies decided to take me out to my first-ever NHL game tonight. (I used to play in a hockey league together with some of them.) And I couldn't have asked for a better game! How about a come-from-behind, empty net tying goal with 4 seconds left for the hometown team? Or six rounds of shootouts before our boys finally pulled through? There's nothing like sitting in the die-hard section, wearing a jersey and becoming instant friends with everyone else wearing one too, chanting "Avs suck!" in unison, and celebrating in the stands with hugs and high-fives once that last shot hit the net. Being part of a larger drama for a few hours was exactly what I needed. And how can you top hitting In-n-Out with the guys after a game?

So, anyone else have a good pick-me-up recently?
