Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Remember that book? It's really about me, and today. They just printed "Alexander" instead of "Amanda" to protect my identity. Shhhhh... AKA: Whining Thread[More:]
As Alexander's day progresses, he faces a barrage of bummers worthy of a country- western song: getting smushed in the middle seat of the car, a dessertless lunch sack, a cavity at the dentist's office, stripeless sneakers, witnessing kissing on television, and being forced to sleep in railroad-train pajamas. He resolves several times to move to Australia.

Ok, so I didn't wake up with gum in my hair, but today is still awful. And I wasn't going to whine about it except for my bit in the three point update thread, until the last phone call I took at work made me want to cry. It was nothing hard and no one mean - just loads of people making my job harder than it needs to be. I'm also more bored at work than usual because they keep taking my responsibilities away from me, and I haven't had any luck finding another job. I also have an appointment with my chiropractor tonight and I have to drive far away for it. I don't want to go, but my hips hurt and I should go. And I spent more money than I should have on lunch. And it's about 100 degrees in my office right now and I'm kinda sweaty. I'm leaving.
That was one of my childhood books, which my parents bought for me because I was always so crabby. I love that book. Still have a copy of it around here somewhere.

Watch out, it has a couple of sequels that aren't very good.

Now take a look at this drawing of an invisible castle I just made.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. *lots of whuffles to youngergirl*

I got whuffles! Yay!

I had a phone interview for my new life insurance policy this evening. More health questions and trying to remember names of doctors and prescriptions. But the guy I talked to was remarkably nice and friendly. The interview made my commute seem shorter. And when I was finished I called back for a manager to compliment the guy I talked to. That made me feel good.

That's really great, youngergirl. Passing on compliments to management for work well done is an excellent practice that really does make one feel good, and which can be incredibly helpful to the person you were dealing with. I always like to imagine that it's the one little extra push that gets them a raise or a promotion. :)

I hope your work troubles are soon resolved one way or another, bunny, and I'm really glad your day ended on a somewhat more upbeat note.
