Chicago Meetup Reminder: Thursday, 7:00 p.m. →[More:]

None of y'all ever proposed a firm time/place, so I'm doing it now.

Billy Goat Tavern, 7:00 p.m., Thursday 2/22.

Now, there's the little problem of my not knowing how to get there from my hotel. Someone can either email me detailed instructions, or someone can volunteer to meet me at my hotel and I'll pay for a cab ride (or the El, or whatever).

Also, I have one Chicagoan's cell phone number. Just one! I'll give you mine if you give me yours -- you know, just in case something happens and I get lost in Lake Michigan. (In which case we'd find out if my phone was waterproof....)

Tee hee, yes she is. Alas, with work Friday morning the drive home that night would be dicey at best.

Well, I'd pretend it was a genuine come-on if it would get you there. But then once you got there you'd just end up being disappointed and bitter and resentful and then you'd spread all sorts of nasty rumors about me.

Oh, what I meant was you'd be doubled-over by the sting of my cruel rejection, since it only would have been a sham come-on offered with the explicit ulterior motive of getting you to show up.

Too fun! You'll all have fun. If you're hunting for another bar, Darwin's was a blast last time I was there (Bucktown area, I think).

And mudpup, of all rejections, I imagine yours would be the cruelest. :)

Off to pick up doggie from daycare and haul ass to community college to teach!

I'll be buying pursey stuff after work, heading to a training so I can be an election day chaperone to make sure that my thug of an alderman doesn't go beating up people who don't vote for him, and then I'll be high-tailing it downtown on the train to hang out with some cool people at a cool bar and talk geek for a coupla hours.
