20 February 2007

OMG I. am. so. hungry! And it's at least half an hour before I can leave to go get something! And WHAT to get? I'm just sitting here drooling.
I'm hungry too. But I have food. I'm just lazy.

Carrot cake.

And now it's pouring and I don't have an umbrella! Waaaa!

Teeps, I'm so jealous!

Carrot cake ain't gonna hack it. I'm thinking onion rings, salad, falafel sandwich, chicken shwarma, veggie pho, broccoli cheddar soup from Whole Paycheck, quesadillas... *makes Homer drooling noise*

All for lunch. Man, you *are* hungry!

I just had dinner. Some turkey I roasted yesterday (leg meat) with garlic and herbs, with grilled courgettes (zucchini), red pepper and big fat mushrooms.

Plums and yoghurt later.

What's veggie pho, yo? Also: broccoli cheddar soup? Really?

TheDonF, you haven't had broccoli cheese soup? It's yummy, you must try.

mmm broccoli cheddar soup is sooooo good.

Did you eat yet, Speck?

Pho's a Vietnamese soup with a clearish broth, rice noodles and, traditionally, beef. I like mine with seafood and hot peppers, but I'm led to believe that the seafood kind is totally inauthentic. 5000.

Boss sprung for gourmet pizza. God bless her. Mmf!

Specklet + glider goo = problem solved
posted by cmonkey 20 February | 14:59
I've had broccoli and stilton soup and that's mmmmmmmm. We don't have Velveeta in the UK and I think I'm glad :) Pho sounds good.

"Glider goo" - I've thought about trying it when I've been making my batches of goo but I've never quite had the guts to.

Glider goo? How do I not know about this?
posted by youngergirl44 20 February | 16:25
Mix stuff together in a blender. Pour into ice cube deeleys, freeze and then defrost as needed. Consists of various things including baby food, yogurt, apple juice, hard boiled eggs, calcium+vitamin powders, honey and other stuff. I have the recipe somewhere on paper - I think Specklet forwarded it to me.

Hee hee!

Oh Don! I forgot to tell you about what the vet told me about the Leadbeaters modified diet! Remind me to email you, it's important. And youngergirl, I don't know what you feed your gliders, but you should know this too. Both y'all bug me about it. (And stop giving them vitamin/calcium powders!)

I've never given mine the powder... They get all that other stuff and chicken, crickets, mealies, waxworms, grasshoppers, caterpillars etc... Whohoo - another use for my Magic Bullet. (I've already planned on making pesto, but the thing is still in the box - I got it for Christmas.)

youngergirl, try earthworms and slugs! Nummy!
posted by Specklet 20 February | 17:11
I've got a duck in the oven right now. I've never made one before. Poor hubby has dinner with his dad tonight and is really longing for duck. Knowing the beasts we live with, I don't think there'll be much left.
posted by redvixen 20 February | 17:21
Speck - where do you buy earthworms and slugs? In a store or online?

Mmmm... duck...
posted by youngergirl44 20 February | 17:25
Earthworms: bait shop. Slugs: only if I find them in the (organically maintained) yard. Wash both before feeding.

Ducks like slugs too!

Not ordinarily, Don. (My, we're getting smart as we age! *ducks*)

PS. Pho is actually pronounced "fuh" which is why this is so funny.

So, in other words, I am rubbish. Thanks.
