18 February 2007

so what did you have for breakfast? [More:]

I've lost ten of those holiday stupidity pounds in the last month, so I decided I could afford to splurge a bit this morning. I had:

Two buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup
two pieces of Sausage, several slices of bacon and some ham
Two fried eggs, well done
Grits
Biscuits with sawmill gravy
Hashbrowns
Fried apples

And a big glass of orange juice.

Now that I feel a bit like a blimp, I will imitate my housecats and nap for a week or so.
Yummy! That sounds crazy-good!

I woke up about 30 minutes ago so missed the breakfast hour. I just finished some bean sprout chow mein and am now enjoying a cup of pu-erh tea to cut the grease.

weretable, did you eat at Cracker Barrel?

I had a couple of scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon, and coffee. I bought bacon at the grocery store for the first time in months. I only buy it during the summer for BLTs, but figured it needed to be in my life more frequently.

Coffee (with a belt of Bailey's in it) and a cigarette.

That sounds really good, weretable.

We had a laaaaaate night last night watching cricket, and were woken up at 10.30 by mr. gaspode's pager (sigh) commanding him to work. So I cooked bacon and scrambled eggs and we had bacon-egg-cheese on english muffin sammiches. And a glass of OJ. And now mr. g is gone and I'm drinking black chai.

I had brunch at the Village Kitchen in Walthamstow (Mr Mustard country). I had sausage, bacon, beans, mushrooms, hashbrowns, toast and coffee. It was lovely.

We're having scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and toast. The mister just put the bread on to toast.

Fraunch toast, local maple syrup, seltzer.

Nothing yet. 'cause there's nothing in the fridge.

Think I'll head out and grab an Irish Breakfast.

A slice of cold sausage-pepperoni-meatball-garlic-and-extra-cheese pizza leftover from last night, and coffee with Baileys. It's my new health plan. If only I had a twinkie.

Shredded oats (which kinda suck; I didn't look at the box closely enough) in nonfat yogurt, topped with ground flaxseed.

Breakfast is the one meal of the day during which I can consistently eat healthy (healthily?), because I truly abhor cooking in the mornings. So it's pretty much cereal or nothing.

Or toast, I guess. I can sometimes handle cooking toast. And now I miss the seven-seed bread with pumpkin seeds I used to be able to get in Boston. Sourdough is just *not* the same for breakfast.

The last of the Valentine's Day / Birthday cake my wonderful wife made.

Cup of tea and a couple of Valentine's chocolates. About to have a bowl of greek yogurt with honey (and some granola, if there's any left).

Chorizo hash, scrambled eggs & toast. Coffe, grapefruit juice and a nap.

Coffee and cigs. I might heat up some left-over Chinese in a bit ( a cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast!).

jason's_planet: An irish breakfast sounds good to me too, but hold the black of black and white pudding. It doesn't even feel like sausage should.

I don't know what I'm going to eat. I was still awake and eating pizza at 6am. I'm just having some mandrin orange tea at the moment. And I'm out of eggs. But there is leftover pizza...

Onion, mushroom, celery (all sauteed in bacon drippings, with savory, basil and marjoram flakes) & cream cheese 3 egg omlet. Wheat toast with butter and orange marmalade. Mocha coffee, (Kenyan coffee, cocoa, vanilla extract, dash o' salt, cream & sugar, whipped cream on top). The Sunday NYT, flown in. Some jazz.

NO! Don't listen to youngergirl, j_p!! Blood pudding is food of the gods.

"there is leftover pizza..."

I recall many a college morning when the only food and drink in the place was the cold pizza and flat beer on the coffee table. You learn to adapt.

Dennys! I had a ham & cheese omelette, hash browns, and an english muffin. Coffe, too, while I read the Sunday paper. It's rather nice to eat breakfast alone.
