You get three wishes. What you gonna do with them?
1. Create delicious hangover-free beer.
2. Make this month start again or else make all my work finished.
3. Poof! I have a magic self-refilling wallet.
1. Guaranteed, substantial income for life (enough to cover whatever I am doing at the time, like a house and kids and bills and vacation and retirement)
2. World frickin' peace already, but I'd settle for just peace in the Middle East
3. A job that I really, really LOVE
1. the serenity to accept the things i cannot change
2. the courage to change the things i can.
3. the wisdom to know the difference.
Seriously. I'm not even remotely religious, generally anti 12-step-y things, and i have no desire to, y'know, stop drinking or anything, but I've always loved the idea behind the serenity prayer. Except for the "prayer" part.
It looks like most of the 'more wishes,' 'wisdom and knowledge,' etc. tropes have already been covered, so I'll try to play it straight:
1. Enlightened public servants.
2. An end to poverty.
And, in case those two don't work out the way I was expecting,
3. A small-to-medium-sized island nation.
1) A functioning Ming Dynasty spaceship with all the trimmings.
2) A cure for the human condition.
3) 10 MINUTES WITHOUT THE MOTHERFUCKING PHONE RINGING AND SOME PURPLEFACED HALFWIT ON THE OTHER END WITH A PROBLEM THAT WOULD BEST BE SOLVED BY THEM BEING DROWNED IN A DIRTY RIVER IN A BURLAP SACK FILLED WITH DRUNKEN SCORPIONS... or world peace, whichever is easier.
Endless money, because once I have that, everything else takes care of itself.
Although, the motivation to put my talents and skills to real use would be helpful, once I had the money to create the leisure to devote my time to doing good.
1.) free and accessible basic human rights for all (safe and reliable sustenance, shelter, health care)
2.) open access to all media for all (written, audio, visual, educational, etc.)
3.) a community i could really care about (be an active part of in guiltless give and take)
1) I wish that everybody else gets what they meant when they wished for it, instead of the tricky, letter-of-the-contract sock-to-the-gut that the be-careful-what-you-ask-for magic types usually pull.
2) I would like to be remembered fondly, if not fondle-ly.
3) But not just yet.
