Hurrah for the internets. I thought I once saw a movie with giant ants chasing the Skipper from Gilligan's Island but lacking any evidence of this, I have long been accused of falsehood. This post sent me to search IMDB and lo and behold, okay, I was technically not entirely correct. It was GIANT SPIDERS!
mgl - first thing that popped into my head was this movie. I saw this as a kid in a theatre. I can't believe we ("we" is kinda vague, probably my younger brother and some friends) were allowed to see it; I had nightmares for weeks. It was rated PG, it should have been an R.
Heh, I love those giant bug films. I remember seeing one once involving giant spiders.
This woman, dressed, of course, in just bra and panties, flees the house because there's a spider in there. So where does she go? Does she get in her car and drive away?
Nooooo ... she runs into an old, dilapidated barn, the last place you would expect to find spiders.
It's all dark in there. Suddenly, behind her, two red lights come on, which are meant to be the evil eyes of a spider she's just woken up (yes, I know they have eight eyes, but this was a low-budget film and they could probably only afford two red lightbulbs).
She ends up wrestling with the giant spider, which is so obviously a man in a suit. The spider did in fact have eight legs, two of which were attached from the body of the costume to his real arms, with wires, and two to his real legs.
She ended up in a web, and unfortunately the hero saved her at the end.
