Hee. My boss said yesterday that she would be out today. I got to work at 11am, and was the first one here.
Weeeeellll I slept in until 8 (only had 2 hours sleep the night before, so it was very welcome), had a long shower, read the paper and had breakfast and mooched around online and by that time it was 10am and time to leave if I wanted to get to work by 11.
I got in pretty late this morning, and only 3 people were in before me, and one was the administrative assistant (she is the one who has to unlock everything, so she's always here early-ish).
The boss-man has a sick son, so he's been coming in pretty late. I feel bad for the poor little guy (the son, I mean).
I was late too, but my boss isn't here this morning, so unless she called earlier and my co-workers answered the phone and mentioned I wasn't here, she'll never know.
My office is almost empty today. Everyone is working from home due to the snow here. It's really not much different because we all hide in our private offices when we are there and we mostly communicate via IRC anyway. The only difference is that everyone has _home or _lp appended to the end of their user names today.
I was up at 5.30am, out the door by 6 and at my desk by 7. I left the office at 5pm, went to the Canary Wharf AA meeting and managed to get as far as Stratford, where trains were suspended due to some idiots playing on the track further down the line. The line is electrified, and some policemen had to risk their lives chasing these morons. I hope they caught them.
So I didn't get home until just after 8pm. I am shattered.
Working from home tomorrow, but I can't sleep in as the plumber is coming to fix the leaky radiator in the morning.
It's raining really heavily. The forecast is for an inch of rain overnight, with more tomorrow, plus 60mph winds. The only time Lucy tolerates me touching her is when she comes in from the rain and lets me dry her fur with a towel. Sometimes I almost want to make her go out and get wet, just so I can give her this little bit of fuss.
I work for the government, so nobody cares if I come in late (or at all). I loooooove flexi-time. Of course, it takes away all the guilty pleasure of trying to sneak in late without anyone noticing.
