Why oh why do I let myself fall in love →[More:] with jobs that actually call me back? An opportunity to work for a non-profit, making $10-15k more than what I'd set as the upper bound of my expected salary range. I get a laptop, work from the road... sigh. I doubt I'm going to get it, but I'm sure as hell going to try.

I've heard that job hunting is a lot like dating. The longer I look, the more true I find this to be.

I haven't heard that it's a lot like dating. And in my recent experience, I wouldn't say it's a lot like dating. It is similar in that you can get excited and gushing about a particular job...

There's the nervous courting. Will they like me? Will I like them? The wondering if they hate you or not while they're wondering if you hate them. Both of you, trying to find the right one out of a sea of possible candidates.

Well, ok, maybe I date like most people interview for jobs.
