The cold weather is making me gain weight. [More:]I don't think it's gotten above 19 degrees all week, and all I want to do is bundle up, eat warm and hearty (and fattening) comfort food, and sleep. Now I know what a hibernating bear must feel like. Thanks goodness next week it will be up in the 30s.
...And this probably all could have been a comment in jon's thread below, had I seen it prior to posting. Ah, well.

But then I might not have seen it and concurred heartily. The frigid cold is what's packing pounds onto me. It's the weather, I tell you, and not, say, the way I disgraced myself at the buffet yesterday.

It's just, this "all you can eat" business... it always sounds to me like a challenge.

I always gain weight in the winter, and loose in the summer. I just try to keep it under control. I feel the cold most desperately, so I choose to belive my body tries to insulate in self defense.

I dressed up last night, and had the awful experience of trying on clothes I hadn't tried in awhile, and gawd they all looked like shite.

It's natural. Hang in. Fruit and Veggie time will return.

Yep, I am currently eating well but for most of January and a lot of December I ate terribly and gained much weight. Reason #928382 why I am going to live somewhere much farther south as soon as possible. So much easier to eat well when you are outside and getting all that exercise. It is like good nutritious food just appeals more.

I've, um, lost 8 pounds in the last three weeks.

Sorry, I'll go find my own thread.

Perfectly normal to gain weight in the winter. We're biologically programmed for it, after all. Extra weight helps insulate us during bitter cold. So don't feel bad - it'll come off in the warmer weather.
