Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond a doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued.[More:]

Although they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems: first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc., all to no avail. One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs.

Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home.

Knowing that few would believe him, he taped a segment of the 'problem'.
Heh. Cats. Gotta love 'em. I love the way, each and every time, the cat watches with fascination as if it's the very first time he's seen it happen.

I know, that curious "look" each time cracks me up.

BTW, meant to mention in the post: the text above was cut-n-paste from the YouTube page that's linked.

We should start a Mecha business that sells "Cat-proofing your Home" kits.

I don't know which is worse, the cat or me sitting here watching this video repeatedly.

Old video, new explanation. As I commented on the YT:

If they spent months looking for the source of the problem of high water bills, how comes she says "Our water bill's gonna be outrageous" at 0:50?

I don't get why people make up bogus stories about stuff they forward around.

This was posted on metafilter a while ago actually. Then it didn't have a cute story or anything, it was just a video of a cat flushing a toilet. And that's good enough for me.

Some people need protecting from themselves. || I think they turned the heat up in the office...
