New Music Tuesday! Listening to the same tunes over and over again at work is doing something unpleasant to me. This is where you come in![More:]

Recommend to me something, anything you haven't recommended here before (because I'm likely to have it already).

I keep wanting to spread the Irish gospel of The Fenians and since my offering of this the first time was met with sound and fury (and nothing) I'm doing it again: Ordinary Man

And here's something romantic off of the same album: Take Her in Your Arms
As several people have already heard from me in email this morning, the new of Montreal album is rocking my world. Here are two songs from it.

And just as a wild card, here are Clint Ruin (aka Foetus aka Jim Thirlwell) and Lydia Lunch, covering "Don't Fear The Reaper."

Um, I've got nothing to recommend in the same vein as The Fenians, but maybe you'd enjoy some Benni Hemm Hemm? Four songs.

I'll bet you haven't got this!

It's called "Hinach Yafa", by The Idan Raichel Project sound. The title means "You are Beautiful" and the lyrics are taken from the Song of Songs.

The Idan Raichel Project is an interesting, sometimes annoyingly self-congratulatory Israeli band. They mix a lot of Amharic (Ethiopic) melodies and lyrics with Hebrew. I have a fondness for them because they represent a sort of cultural fusion between Israeli, Arabic and Ethiopic culture in a way that's rarely done. And the melodies are very nice.

Here's a video: Mima'amakim

Well, here's an interesting use of some Celtic melodies for you.

If you are not down with the OSSEMNESS that is Ted Leo, then you should get acquainted. Post Haste.

The title track of the latest Mindy Smith album. I heart Mindy Smith. A lot.

black8: Why is there no "About" or "Bio" page for this Ted Leo person on his own website? I would like to know more about him, please.

Ted Leo - Since U Been Gone

No idea where I got that from.

I dunno. There's interviews and whatnot all over YouTube, however.
I do know he was in a mod revival band called Chisel (which sounds almost exactly like Ted Leo & the Pharmacists) and to me, he is the American Paul Weller...there's a bio here.
