Have you ever rented a short-term flat in Berlin? Who did you go through?→[More:]

I need to rent a flat in Berlin for the month of April, but the agency I've found wants a 25% "finders fee" + VAT, which is a little steep. Any suggestions?

My experiences getting dates & selling musical equipment on my local Craigslist have been pretty weird, so I dunno if I'd be up for trusting it to get me a safe place to work for a month. At least an agency would have a stream of people coming through the same flat, so maybe the nutcases would get weeded out I hope. That's been my experience in other countries, at least. Don't let me down, Deutschland.
