I don't know which I love more: Alex Ross's writing or his taste in music.

Thanks for the heads up, matteo. I adore Messiaen and suspect I will like this as well.

yeah, he's one of the good ones. Toru Takemitsu was to me a great poet of isolation -- here you can find some .flac files
