I know, I choose where I live in this city, and I love my neighborhood something fierce. But this crap is getting old. Not scary, just *old*.

My brother did a couple years of surgical training in Dallas. He used to tell me about the gang members coming into the emergency room with bullet wounds through their stabbing scars, or stab wounds in their bullet scars.

"Why didn't I just let you die last time?" was the expression of exasperation he used.

And earlier this school year, a cop shot an inmate... I mean student... actually, I think gang member is the most correct term.... at South Hills High School. My wife teaches at one of the other Fort Worth high schools and it's considered much worse than South Hills actually. (She has a lot of students that have parole officers.)

But yeah, I pick Fort Worth over Dallas most nights.

And yet Tony Romo goes scot-free.

That's a beautiful neighborhood, ufez. I'd love to live in an area like that. Without the gunfire, of course.

The bloody HAWCS buzzes my neighbourhood at least every second night. About once a month they spend an hour hovering around, I'm assuming providing support for something (like the DUI Checkstop they ran last summer).

Very irritating. Luckily the patch is offering wages to pilots that the city can't match so they are being a little more selective in it's use lately.
