I don't feel good! [More:]

This is one of those days when the worst of the depression and the worst of the heart disease intersect, and I feel like crap.

Luckily, I only have the physical symptoms of depression, and I rarely have to deal with all the emotional baggage with which others are saddled.
Oh, I'm sorry. I'll come over and blow bubbles at you and tell you jokes until you feel better. Plus a nice back rub. And balloons!

Mischief, the physical symptoms are bad enough. This from one who hs the emotional baggage sometimes as well.

Hope you feel better.

Oy, 'chief! I would make you a pot of your favorite soup. But since I do not know what it is I would make a pot of my favorite soup. And I would bring it over along with a movie to watch. Somethin along the lines of mystery science theater. Would you like that? Make fun of crappy sci-fi movies? Or we would all sit and blow bubbles and tell jokes. Doncha worry buddy, it will pass.

Man! I would snuggle up on the couch with a thermos of tea and disappear into a great book or three for a few days.

Feel better, bunny!

I'm totally there with you, mischief, wading in misery. We can wade together. Whilst wearing those funny fisherman boots.

If I were there in person in addition to in spirit, I would draw you a hot bath (with some lavendar bubbles) and give you a nice fluffy escape book. (The kind that doesn't remind you of why you're depressed, but just lets you feel happy in imagining someone else's life for a bit.)

Wouldn't it be nice if there were a drug that made depression go away? Like, actually go away? Instantly? And permanently?

Hang in there. Maybe someday someone will invent this miracle drug of which I speak.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that, bud! :(

Maybe this will put a smile on your face? (C.W. pointed that out to me...)

Hugs to ya, man!

Sorry about this, mis-chief, but when you mentioned the combination of depression and heart disease, I started thinking about myself (same combo) and wondered if you're doing better than I am at figuring out which symptoms come from which. I had thought that shortness of breath (not athsmatic, but breathlessness from minimal effort) was a big fat warning of my Congestive Heart Failure, but the last time I saw my doc, I turned out to be 'healthier than I feel'. (Don't you just hate that?) Any insights? Or just some shared grumbles?

I know I can't help. But I really hope you feel better soon.

At least I don't have a cold on top of all that. I had a cold while I was in the hospital for my last heart attack. Talk about miserable, blech.

Thanks, guys, for the nice words.

carmina: I am making smoked turkey/cabbage soup, not my most-favoritest but it's up there.

wendell: Yup, I can lift weights at the gym for hours, but a walk to the corner leaves me gasping with chest pains, faint-headed, and my legs burning. I will probably be in a damn scooter by summer despite the fact that I can bench press the stupid thing. heheh

That's the problem with this combination, everything is so contrary to what would seem natural. ( Side note: I also have a touch of schizophrenia, and sometimes I think that's the only thing keeping me sane. ;-P )

Oh btw, my favoritest soup is dilled potato soup made with kielbasa.
posted by mischief 27 January | 21:43
That sucks, mischief.

What has your doctor been telling you? Is he familiar with depression and how it can affect people?
posted by jason's_planet 27 January | 22:01
I have kielbasa in the freezer but I make lentils and sausage with it.

(Mischief, you have my condolences with the schizophrenia, at least if they make you take seroquel. That crap always knocked me out-which is what the doc wanted it to do, seeing as he was paranoid about my bipolar self getting enough sleep. Grr...)

yeah, okay. I am making my favoritest soup. I do not even know what kielbasa is. I mispelled it 3 times already. bah!

take it easy, now, mkay?

Feel better mischief! Is there a place where you can get a massage?

Kielbasa is Polish sausage.

Hugs, mischief

Hang in there buddy, if I can call you that.
It'll pass hopefully sooner than you think.

Is there anything we can do for you??
How about a vid?

nickyskye helped me dig it out earlier:)

thanks brujita. I am still making my soup.

Ten minutes after I posted my previous comment, the power went out on my whole neighborhood for five hours. Just an extra level of (a) annoyance (b) perspective. Mischief, some non-aerobic exercise would probably be a good idea for me... but how am I gonna get a good set of weights home? :) And cute dogs just make me think of my late Lollypup. I hated it when I just couldn't take her for walkies... :( So, no dog, no kielbasa, no stamina, no electricity, the software upgrade on my blog went bad, it's raining and I'm running out of clean underwear. I don't often make this claim, but RIGHT NOW, my life sucks more than most.

heh. Wendell, last night mr. taz and I were talking on skype and for some reason got off on a tangent of hardware, software, firmware and 'underware'... and mr. taz said, "of course you know what the documentation for underware says, don't you?" Me: "no, tell me, what does the documentation for underware say?" Him: Yellow side to the front, brown side to the back."

mischief,
I know that potato soup and kiekbasa, haven't had it for ages, but it'll definitely help the bad mood pass.
That pug is cute, hadjiboy.
True Pug Story:
A sister left her pug in the care of a couple over the weekend. We took it up north and went fishing. 6-9 hours a day on the water over the weekend. Every time a person took a cast, that pug was barking and running to the person fishing. It spied someone in the bow casting, it would bark and run to the bow. Back and forth all day. It was really enjoying the company and fishing. Probably it's first time. When we caught a fish, we thought that pug was going to jump overboard and help get the hook out. Barking at it all the time.
When the dog was returned to the sisters, she wanted to know what we had done to the dog, because it slept for two days./ We said it really enjoyed fishing but found it was a rather tiring sport. It hadn't seen such action in ages. Can't remember the dog's name, but I called it 'Bullseye', like Bill Syke's dog in the 'Oliver' movie. It loved the name.

May your mood blow over, mischief.

Turn off your lights, draw the curtains, light some sweetgrass ]available at First Nation's stores[ and some candles. Imagine yourself in the middle of a lake on an island surrounded by pines.

Treat yourselves well, guys. I hope you're both feeling better soon.

But how am I gonna get two big jugs of milk home? I Keed! Oddly, coming right after taz's 'underware' joke, at first I thought you were suggesting a way to clean my undies. Yipes!

I'm feeling better now, and the reasons why I'm going to post in a new thread. And there will be pictures! No, not of my underwear!

in countries with european and n. american climates, jan 22nd is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year (from a recent npr story.)

hang in there. i've almost gone bugfuck this winter too. thought i did lose it, but it's amazing how sometimes there's still a little strength past the point you think you've completely lost it.

mischief, I've been wanting to post that you've seemed so much happier, and livelier, for a while now, since you've been mentioning the new drugs, and how nice that's been to see you around more.

Regardless of whether they make you post as much, or more, here, I hope you find some medical solution that helps you out. I'm rooting for you.
