24 January 2007

Three Point Status Update 1) I just ate a delicious piece of Seriously Strong cheddar that was so dry and well-aged that it creaked beneath my teeth!
2) I have a bunch of Stop The War emails to send out today, and miscellaneous other political crap. My brain requires coffee first, perhaps?
3) Still unemployed - evidently I am not to look for work until the better half gets a job, for logistical reasons. Fine by me!
1. It snowed overnight here. Bailey went out through the cat flap this morning and when she came in a couple of minutes later she sat looking all pathetic, holding up her front paws, one at a time, until I abandoned my breakfast to warm her toes between my hands. I was rewarded with a 'nose kiss' and a head rub.

2. It was a lovely walk to the station, dead quiet, virgin snow, just my footprints and a few pawprints, probably foxes.

3. I just ate a sausage sandwich on white toast with Heinz tomato ketchup for breakfast. It was perfect.

1) I met the g/f's kids for the first time yesterday. It went OK.
2) Last night BSG failed to record on my PVR. I have to wait til the monday repeat.
3) This morning I fell over on the ice. I now have a jumper knit patterned mark on my elbow where it hit the floor.

1) I'm knocking back the first cup o' joe for the day, wishing I had a smoke to go with it, and not smoking. Coffee has its charms, but without smoke, it's like a made up tart in an old dress; reminds of you what could be, more than makes you wish for what is.

2) It's cooler today in north Florida than it has been. But not enough to bring in the patio plants, or keep the elderberry bush in the back yard from blooming. It's weird to have a hackberry tree in the front yard still losing it's leaves, and an elderberry bush in the back, busted out in hundreds of magenta and yellow flowers.

3) I heard last night that in a little over a month, That Girl From Memphis will be stopping by for a walk on the beach, and some mocha coffee, the NYT and Sunday brunch jazz at Shelby's. Yay!

I, too, amn't smoking. Well I can smoke Other Things but that should wait until later. I am drinking tea..

essexjan, that sounds like absolute death by cuteness.

Glad the kid-meeting went well, seanyboy, how old are they?

1) weather still beautiful, but expected to change; no snow at all yet this winter; I've had my windows open most days recently.

2) not sleeping; feeling anxious

3) am supposed to get my new glasses/contacts today; if my current glasses were any older, they'd be antiques.

Just read Lipstick Thespian’s Call back thread and occhiblu’s impending interview call, and wanted to wish them the best of luck.
Just came back from Hyderabad Central Mall where I had a nice quiet time and enjoyed the ride.
Just about to head out the door for the psychiatrist’s appointment...

The snow is magical here today, I'm so lucky I'm working from home though and not driving. I'm amazed here in the UK there were quite serious problems on the trains today. My boss didn't make our 9am teleconference as she was stuck on the train from Brighton to London. It's a few milimetres of snow for God's sake!! How come other countries manage with 4 months of inches of snow every year?
Anyway, besides that bitchin' I love the snow.
Good luck Hadjiboy

oh No 2. I'm fire-brigading some major problems at work as a new national electronic portal for applications to medical training went live on Monday and it's not what it was supposed to be. I'm certain it's a case of the commissioners not explaining to the designers exactly what they wanted the system to do, but the fact it, it's causing major headaches.
No 3 Got nice new knifes for Xmas and almost took the top of my finger off last night. Had to suture it, and it throbs! Ugh!

After doing the hot saline, mouth slooshing and having a look with a dental mirror and a torch, the mighty hole where the last of my wisdom teeth was removed on monday has closed up! Honestly, it was like having a tooth removed by a gentle, fluffy kitten. This new dentist is my current hero.

A longstanding client has just rung me to say she wants me to meet up with two potential new clients next week, both are professional riders and have sponsors to pay my fee.

A steaming bowl of porridge with a smattering of muscovado sugar sits before me

1. It snowed in our corner of Sweden last night too.
2. Still sick with interminably tenacious flu bug: not sure if I’m sweating it out or it’s sweating me out.
3. It is possible for me not to ingest caffeine for a whole week and live!

1. I'm wrapping up my first creative problem solving session with a remote client (I usually do them in person). It's going well even though the imagination cubed server was wonked and we resorted to Plan C of sharing powerpoint over a remote desktop connection. This is the first remote session anyone has done with this problem solving process so I'm a pioneer!

2.The yellow lab is focused intently on Mrs Chewy as she consumes a honey grain bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. It matches the lab's fur.

3. I have a live facilitation meeting today with the CEO of a mid size specialty hospital for animals. Hopefully it will lead to revenue generating long term clientness.

4. On my website yesterday, I announced my first official 1 day workshop I'll be teaching February 28. It's going to be a small one - 8 people - but it's my first official one so I'm nervous!

Taz what's the word on the new digs in Athens? EJ that sounds like a beautiful morning. Misteraitch here's to kicking flu ass soon.

2. The puppy of doom is driving me crazy & getting out of the fence & I don't know what to do about it short of running an electric current through the fence which I don't know how to do, also I am broke right now.

3. Went out last night, didn't smoke, had a good time, drank beer & yet am not particularly hungover today. And it's supposed to snow tonight & tomorrow.

2. My son and I are watching Blue's Clues and eating apple and cinnamon oatmeal.

3. I am thinking of signing up for an intro to creative writing class. It's a leisure class offered by a local community college. I am discouraged though. Maybe I should sign up for Good Grammar instead.

1. The minus 80 freezer at work died sometime yesterday, and the alarm didn't go off. Nobody realised until this morning. It's been a busy morning clearing out the freezer.

1. I just could not face the pool this morning when I went to the gym early. I have been swimming 3x per week, getting into the pool by or before 6 but my body did not want to this morning, (competitive swimmers look at workouts as spending time in a wet concrete jail cell) so I did a bit of time on the row machine and lifted some weights, but did not break a sweat. Showered anyway; for you guys' sake.

2. Too many small things at work. Nothing that I am FORCED to deal with today but there is a lot of stuff in my court and I have to pick a few and run with them before too many pile up (if that makes sense).

3. This song got to me this morning, listening on my walk to work. (Cowboy Singer - Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer)

2. I have the last book of Sandman waiting for me to read it as soon as I finish up work.

3. I have a very tasty concoction of chicken and red cargo rice (I don't know what it is, but the Asian market had it for cheap, and I like brown rice, and it's really really tasty) and zucchini and other vegetables waiting for me to eat it for dinner. Yay!

1) I met the g/f's kids for the first time yesterday.— seanyboy

Cool. Hope it all goes well. If she's introducing you to the kids, it's a good sign.

A good friend of mine has been with a woman with 2 kids for quite some time. He's great with them, they love him and the kids' teachers say what a good influence he is on them. Their real Dad is a horror show.

1, 2, & 3[. Thinking of my impending photoshoot and fingerprinting 300km north of where I live tomorrow. At the police station. I am charged with 'theft under' ]$5,000.00[. Based on a complaint from an employer that I won't return his shit stained sweats and a few articles of clothing, value = $25.00. He still owes me $2,500.00 for work I did for him over the summer. The numerous times I've contacted him to return his belongings and the money owing me has been futile. I'm proceeding to sue him in small claims court. I had to do my own detective work to find the address of said employer. The police wouldn't give me his address because 'we didn't seem to get along'. You need an address to serve the Defendant the civil case's papers. I explained to the constable that I am not withholding said articles in lieu of payment, he just won't meet up. I have +10 messages from employer. *yawn*
I too lodged a complaint with the police back in the summer, stating that if he is on my property, I will charge him with trespassing — gave them his truck's plate number.
Because he didn't threaten me verbally or physically per se, no charges can be laid against him. His behaviour was erratic and I felt threatened at the time. I have witnesses present names.
I spoke to the constable after finding out I was charged, why¿ Seems he called said employer and asked if I returned his articles. No. The constable didn't call me. I spoke with the police supervisor ]Sergeant[, who told me the constable could have acted as a third party. He didn't bother to give me that information nor the offer. The Sergeant told me he wasn't familiar with the case and left it in the hands of the 'capable' constable.
Could it be something from 20 years ago for an 'attempted break and enter'¿ I wasn't charged for anything at the time, but the police wanted to 'talk' to me. I came with a lawyer. After a 16 minute questioning, the lawyer told the police, are you charging my client with an offense¿ He won't answer anymore questions. No charges were laid. Turns out it was an obvious fishing expedition by an owner who didn't like my cut. I had a mohawk and dangly earrings. I am bald headed today.
I have the same lawyer for this impending court date, after the initial visit to the police station. We'll discuss strategy and get this charge thrown out by the crown attorney, hopefully.
ITMT, I'll lose another day once a court date has been set. The first appearance is to set a date. What a waste of time for me, but I'm taking this seriously and it'll be an awesome drive in the country, what with all that snow and ice. I'm bringing my camera.

Guess I had a few things on my mind, thanks for your patience. :)

The pettiness of some people galls me.
