UPS vs. The Postal Service So, watching the playoffs over the past couple of weekends, I've noticed this UPS ad that uses "Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service as its music. Do you think it's an intentional f*you?
It's odd, because the band had licensed their music to the USPS for awhile. (I read about the ads before I saw them.)

Actually, maybe the USPS deal never went through. I can't remember if I ever heard any ads with their music on them or not. That might explain why they went elsewhere for the licensing moolah.

Not an eff you; more like...see how clever and current we are. I have to admit, the first time I noticed it I thought it was cute. My daughter and I recognized the song at the exact same moment and looked at each other and smiled.

I've been thinking it's definitely at least a "neener neener!"

I can neither confirm or deny.

USPS.com still sells "Such Great Heights", which was part of the deal. I don't think using their music in ads was ever part of the deal, though.
