Public Radio Strikes Out Has anyone heard this show? It's been on my affiliate for a few weeks, and I've been listening to give it a chance.[More:]This show is definitely an attempt to appeal to a Younger Demographic with a Fresh, Irreverent Outlook and a Clever, Witty Take on current events. I'd say they're basically trying to reach the Daily Show crowd, but on radio. And I'd say they're really failing. The show is snide, facile, shallow, and snarky; the hostess has really interesting guests on, and then steamrolls over them with not-very-imaginative humor. Some marketing folks at PRI have been overthinking things, justifying salaries, I think. I mean, if you listen to NPR in the first place, it's because you want to get away from the noisy emptiness of the mainstream media - so why replicate it?

But then I'm an old curmudgeon.
Really weird: One of the co-creators was a former senior producer of Studio360 - one of the best shows on public radio!

Miko, it might be time for you to trade down on lawn sizes. Less mowing, lower fertilizer costs, easier to weed, etc.

Hmm, sounds pretty annoying. I hope our station avoids it.

*pulls up deck chair next to Miko, joins in yelling at kids to get off the damn lawn*

Nah - I just like to trip people with my walker and then act all innocent and befuddled. Works every time.
