AskMeCha: My Gmail Notifier isn't working. "Cannot read your messages (bad data, 6)." Yet I can go to my account and read messages myself just fine. Is something wrong with my copy of Gmail Notifier, or with the world?
This happens when I use IE to log onto my other gmail account. (Firefox being my main browser.)

I've been having trouble with gmail (webpage, not notifier which I don't use) on and off for the past couple days.

My gmail notifier is working just fine.

have you tried re-installing the notifier?

taz: re-installing it gets me the same result. I've got it set to Firefox, for what it's worth, but the same thing happens if I set it to IE.

But have you logged onto any other gmail accounts with either browser? If so, log out of all other accounts then try it.

Clear out your internet explorer cookies.
Tools --> Options --> Delete Cookies.

Then, log back into metachat and tell us if it worked.

agropyron: I only have one Gmail account.

seanyboy: I cleared cookies in both IE and Firefox for good measure--it still doesn't work.

Yay, it works now. That was random.
Now I don't have to check gmail every five minutes.

Mine was also giving me the same error this morning. It's fine now. I think the notifier was temporarily borked this morning.
