How many of us are New Yorkers and writers, or aspiring writers?[More:]

I've been thinking of starting a writer's workshopping group that would meet twice a month. It's mostly selfish: I need some motivation to pump my novel out, and there's no better motivation than other people.

Would ... umm ... anyone be interested? It wouldn't have to be all fiction. Those of us who join could submit bits of whatever we're working on. We'd post it all on a wiki, make sure everyone reads whatever is up for critique in advance, and then meet up and talk it all over.
Wow. Nobody writes? So sad. So very, very sad.

We all write. We've just given us aspiring is all.

Well, fuck that. Let's all aspire, dammit. Let's aspire, and write, and workshop. C'mon. Try it once. It'll be fun. I promise.

We'll include booze. It'll just be like a MeCha meetup, but we'll talk about words and stuff.

I feel your pain. Apparently no one tutors for the LSAT either :(

I am very interested, though I fear committing then becoming too busy to follow through.

/me commitment problems.

I would love to give it a try and submit pieces to the wiki.
