When was the last time you felt like you made a connection with someone… [More:]who you didn’t think you connected with??

So, day before yesterday, my mother and I were out shopping and she saw a refrigerator which cost 80,000 Rupees (roughly about 1,600 dollars, I think), and she was telling me how nice it’d be when I started earning so that I can buy it for her. (Me and my mom have a lot of history). Long story short—I told her today that what she’d told me made me feel a little uncomfortable, cos as it is I have a lot to worry about, and she knows how sensitive I am to these kinds of things—and my mom responded in a way that made me feel really nice all over.

She said, and without any hint of—it’s you who should change, and why are you so goddamn sensitive all the time—that it didn’t matter if we bought a new fridge or not. And if she did want to buy it, she could gather the finances herself if she wanted to. And she said it in the most Non-threatening way possible:)
Connected with your Mom, hadjiboy¿

One would assume so, but I think it also depends on what kind of a Mom/person she was to you growing up, how you were treated and not just because she birthed you.

There are plenty of poisonous parents, who do their kids No favours.

Consider yourself fortunate. She sounds like she knows you and is quite caring and gentle with your feelings. Nice.

Hadjiboy, have I mentioned how sweet it'll be when you can afford to get me that new laptop? I work my fingers to the bone trying to make this web site nice for you, and it's so difficult to do on this ratty old PC.

*gazes intently at hadjiboy; spits on hanky, wipes invisible smudge from his cheek*

You forgot to go into detail how long and excruciatingly painful his birth was.

I just got 800 rupees from a friend that was just in India. I put them in my foreign currency box from Thailand.

Actually, I was born three months premature, so I did my mom a favour I guess;)

Hope you get the chance to come to India to spend the 800 rupees soon youngergirl, and you can hopefully bring alicesshoe with you:)

The friend that gave them to me, Mikhiel, and his roommate, Nikhil, have been trying to talk the BF and me into coming to India for about a year now. I don't need much convincing. The food is enough reason for me to visit.

Thanks for the invite hadjiboy.

A friend of mine went to India with a buddy who has tons of family there. They weren't slumming by no means and had the time of their lives. Oh, the stories. We were killing ourselves laughing listening to them.

I'd like to go to new Zealand, actually. It's about a tat I'd like which I'd only get there, if they'd even do it though.

This is really freaking me out, lol.
(From now on I’m just going to refer to you as Mom, Taz!)

Oh yes, the stories, alicesshoe—you’ll have loads of them once you come here too:)
youngergirl, I’m glad you like the cooking;)
