Has anybody ever used that two-part solution you pour on tabletops? [More:]I've got Envirotex and a table I want to pour over. Does it smell plastic-y or petroleum-y? Would it be really horribly bad to use it inside? What else would you put on this tabletop before pouring?
Clean gently with mineral spirits firstly ]turpentine[ with soft cloth that doesn't shed.

It's all going to smell initially while it cures. Yep, nasty volatile compounds. It releases them.

Does it not contain instructions¿

Nice table. Will you be sealing the cards and chips too¿¿

It has instructions- ventilate well. I need to just give it up but was hoping for a magical post that says "go for it, the house will only smell bad for a day". The shed's out because today it's finally cold and it's probably going to stay that way forever. pout

Yeah, the chips and cards will be on there with Blue Moon bottle caps around the outside edges. I wish I could paint realistic looking drink rings.

Yep, that stuff is incredibly toxic, so watch the fumes!

But when you finally get to do it (even if it's this spring), I want to see a pic of this table. That's such a cool idea.

So open the doors, open the windows, paint it and throw it into the shed to dry for a few weeks.

You have to worry about painting in enclosed spaces or really close to gas flames.

Wearing a chemical mask is a good idea, or you will get stoned. The equivalent to gas huffing, kills brain cells.

Drink rings¿ You mean the rings left from drinks¿ Then do it for real. After the mineral spirits clean up, leave some coke ring stains and let dry.

You may need a few applications of the goop to cover the cards and chips and all. Otherwise, anything you place on the table will tip and spill. It won't be flat and level. Thin coats applied more than once is better than one thick coat.

Can't heat the shed¿

I've never used the stuff, but.. Are you going to build temporary edges around the table to hold the pool of incredibly toxic volatile liquid goo until it sets up? Or is it so viscous that you can just dollop it on like peanut butter?

Triode, I think it's pretty thick. You can edge it or let it drip over the sides onto a protected surface.

don't you hate it || It took me two hours and 45 minutes to get to work this morning,
